Her artisan chocolate has been presented to Celine Dion, Loreena Mckennitt and Prince Edward.  When your clientele includes everyone from rock stars to prime ministers, word-of-mouth becomes a great source of new business.

The business is Chocolatier Constance Popp, a sophisticated chocolate boutique that opened in December 2007.  For owner and chocolatier Constance Menzies it provides the perfect outlet for an entrepreneurial spirit with a need for creative self-expression. 

Says Constance, “Originally, I started working with chocolate at home, and busy with another career, I thought the idea of starting a chocolate business seemed too farfetched.  In addition to figuring out how to put a business together, I searched the country for the best place to learn chocolate and ultimately went to a school in Montreal where I took a series of courses over three years. Now I’m heading to Chicago and Belgium. As a chocolatier, I’ve created our own signature style both for our shop and for a range of clients and shops”.  

With staff and family contributing to her business, her output is growing all the time. The next step?  “We distribute chocolate to Brandon and send to Calgary and Edmonton with a possibility of expanding there. In the immediate future we are considering opening up a satellite shop with Anna's Indulgences at Clear Lake and this is very exciting for us."
